This video was inspired by a conversation I had with GSU Philosophy Professor Neil Van Leeuwen regarding his studies of belief. He explained that one function of religion is to organize society into sacred and non-sacred spaces and correspondingly into the more well regarded and less regarded. It made me think of the truck chapels I had been seeing. I attended the Sunday morning Chapel service at Pilot hoping to interview truckers about how they define and connect with what may be regarded as sacred in a truck parking lot. I was the only one that showed up aside from the minister. This is part of the sermon he did.
